Shriniwas Hemade, Head And Associate Professor, the Department of Philosophy being conferred upon Marathi Writer Anant Kanekar State Level Award for creative writing at the hands of Dr. Narendra Dabholkar , editor weekly Sadhana and President of AndhaShradhha Nirmulan Samiti of Maharashtra. The award is given away at the Diwali issue contest by Marathi Sahitya Parishad, Pune for his article Maitrichi Baajarpetha : Maitri Vikatacha Ghyavayachi Asate ('Free Enterprise Friendship Market : Friendship must be bought ') published in Purush Spandan, Diwali issue 2009. The ceremony took place in Pune on 22nd February 2010.
